Uniworld is part of a larger travel consortium that has been in business for over 30 years. Focusing on European tours for English-speaking travelers, mostly Americans. Their riverboats look might most of the other riverboats plying the European arteries on the outside, but the subtle differences on the inside are what make Uniworld distinct.
The boats and the name are marketed through the Encino, California-based Uniworld River Cruises, but the staff on board is comprised of river boating and tourism specialists from a Swiss company that specializes all aspects of water-based tourism, from the navigation to the cuisine. They are all European and exceedingly professional.
European riverboats are for travelers who want to see Europe without dealing with taxis, buses and unpacking in a different hotel every night. The prices are almost all-inclusive, including most shore excursions and meals. Some special tours will carry an additional charge, and beer, wines or spirits are charged separately to your onboard account.
Riverboats are also for cruisers who have been to the Mediterranean and Baltic already, but want to see more of Europe. The shallow draft, low-profile river boats are designed specifically for European waterways and offer panoramic window views inside and side-to-side sun decks top-side from which to admire the scenery sailing by in style and comfort.
